Well Northants
Your idea can make a difference
As a member of your local community, you will have a good understanding of your neighbourhood, and may have ideas on what will make a difference to others who live here.
That’s why we are asking residents from the areas listed below to take part in a unique opportunity for individuals and organisations to apply for funding to pilot a good project idea that will benefit the neighbourhood you live in. As part of your community, you know what will make the most change to the people in this area.
Residents in the community will vote for the projects they would most like to see happen, through a Community Vote Day event which will be hosted in the heart of the community.
Funding for projects up to the value of £500 or £2,500 are available to apply for and if your project idea is voted for you will receive the sum of money you applied for to help you do it!
We are asking individuals, groups or organisations who have an idea about the priorities which are outlined below to get in touch with our team today, who are on hand to help you pull the information together to make a bid for the money available.
To help us understand the right priorities for the area, we have talked to residents of each area and they have told us some important areas for creating a healthier community. Please see the neighbourhood you live in to find the ‘themes’ relevant to your area:
Blackthorn
- Bringing people together
- Better communication
- Support for families and children
- Improving community safety
- Health clean spaces
St David's / Kingsthorpe
- Bringing people together
- Working in partnership
- Community safety
- Improving communications
Kings Heath
- Getting to know each other
- Healthy and clean spaces
- Access to services
This opportunity is unique, as you can apply whether you are an individual, small group or an established organisation with a great idea. If you are applying as an individual or unregistered group you must have an appropriate community organisation or umbrella organisation to act as your sponsor to help administer the funds you will receive if your project idea is successful. If you need further help with this, please contact the details below.
There are online workshops available to help you with information and creation of your bid so watch this space for more information. The workshops will take place at 9.30am on the following dates:
- 19 and 26 January
- 2, 9, 16 and 23 February
- 2 March
To access the workshops above, please join on Zoom (Meeting ID: 844 4983 6742)
There will be an online application for you to submit your project idea or if you need a hard copy version please call or email the contact details below. All project applications must comply with financial management, safeguarding and appropriate policies for them to be included in the Community Voting Day event. All project applications that comply with the above, with be voted on at a voting day even in each of the areas listed above, by members of the community.
Therefore, the winning idea will be created in the local community and voted by those who live in the community too! The winning idea will receive the agreed money and will work together with our team of community development workers and Public Health West Northamptonshire to make it happen.
This is a really great way to get involved and make a difference to your community by putting forward new ideas which haven’t been done before. It is all about your community and your ideas, being what is right for you.
These events are for you to come along to as someone who lives in the area, to vote on ideas that you think are the most needed where you live. Your vote will make a difference and gives you the opportunity to have a say on what happens in your community!
