How to find your Council Tax account number

Your Council Tax account number is a 9 digit number beginning with 4. This is used as a security check to verify your identity.

We will only issue you with a account number after you have told us you are moving into a property.

You can find your account number:

  • on the top right-hand side of your Council Tax bill (as shown below)
  • if you pay by Direct Debit, on your Direct Debit payment on your bank account
  • by signing in to your existing online Council Tax account
