Council Tax portal login support
If you are having difficulties using our Council Tax online account, please check our guidance to help resolve these common issues
I am trying to reset my password but I am not receiving the email
Before contacting us, please check:
- your junk or spam folder first
- if the email is not there, your online account may not be activated
- when you first signed up, you should have received an activation email.
If you cannot find the activation email, please contact us at [email protected] to request a new activation email.
I cannot access my online account
If you are registered:
- please use the ‘Forgotten password’ option to reset your password
- make sure you are using the same email address you registered with
I am logged in but cannot see my Council Tax details
This usually means your Council Tax account has not yet been linked to your current email address.
It is important that you:
- select the ‘Add service’ option within the portal
- enter your Council Tax account details to link your account
My email address is linked to other Council Tax account references
Your email address can be associated with multiple Council Tax accounts (for example, previous addresses).
To update your account links:
- you can remove old or unused account references
- use the ‘Add service’ option to link your current Council Tax account
I have not received an email notification about my new bill
If you have changed your email address:
- you will need to re-register using your new email address
- email notifications are sent to the address you used when you registered for the portal
I have moved address but I am receiving paper bills again
When you move home, your email address must be linked to your new Council Tax account number.
Make sure that you:
- log into the portal
- use the ‘Add service’ option to associate your new account number with your email address
I want to delete my online account
You can delete your account through the portal:
- select the ‘Delete account’ option
- you will receive a confirmation email containing a verification code
- enter the code in the portal to complete the deletion process
