Description

This team supports children and young people with emotional wellbeing difficulties and mental health conditions. It's referred to as "Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services" (CAMHS) or "Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services" (CYPMHS).

CAMHS/CYPMHS offer a variety of interventions and therapies in both individual or group settings. It works with families across the county to help children and young people feel better.

Who is this service for? Children and young people up to the age of 18 and registered with a GP in Northamptonshire.

Consultation Line and online Chat  (CAMHS Live) 

Young people (aged 13+): can speak to the team live and online Monday-Friday, 9am-7pm via CAMHS Live

Parents, carers, young people, and professionals: can call the CAMHS/CYPMHS Consultation Line, 0800 170 7055 (Monday-Friday, 9am-7pm).

Professionals: CAMHS/CYPMHS accept referrals from professionals through its Children and Young People's Referral Management Centre.

Crisis Service 

The CAMHS Crisis Team is a multi- disciplinary team made up of mental health professionals who assess and supports young people who have attempted suicide or severally harmed themselves. They operate 7 days a week from 9am till 10pm across Northamptonshire. They also offer a phone triage service overnight between 10pm and 9am.

They additionally act as the gate keepers for young people who require a mental health hospital admission and source these beds accordingly.

CAMHS Intensive Outreach Team -  aims to avoid admissions to acute hospital and inpatient services while accessing support in the home environment.  (Tel: 07596 890423 / Email: [email protected])
