Help shape the future of adult social care services in West Northamptonshire
17 June 2026

Residents, service users, families, carers and staff across West Northamptonshire are being invited to have their say on the future of a number of council-run adult social care services, including provision for younger adults and people with more complex needs.
West Northamptonshire Council has launched a a 12-week public consultation, running from 16 June to 9 September 2026, to gather views on how these services are delivered so that they meet the changing needs of local people.
The consultation focuses on a small number of in-house services, including residential care at Obelisk House and Southfields, supported living provision, including Eleanor Lodge, the Council’s home care service, and day services at Gladstone Road, Olympus House, Towcester Forum, Daventry’s Longlands and the Cottages. It also includes the Specialist Support Services for Younger Adults West, which brings together supported living, group homes and home care support for younger adults.
The four surveys can be accessed online:

Adult Social Care has changed significantly in recent years. People are living longer and often have more complex needs, alongside a growing recognition of the importance of personalised, community-based support. The Council is reviewing its services to ensure they remain safe, high quality, sustainable and fit for the future.
The consultation will explore a range of possible options for how services could be delivered. This includes looking at how services could be improved or modernised, whether buildings and facilities are fit for purpose, and how care can best support people to live independent and fulfilled lives.
No decisions have been made at this stage, and no outcomes are predetermined. Feedback gathered during the consultation will be carefully considered and used to inform a future report to Cabinet later this year.
Councillor Laura Couse, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Public Health, said:
“Our in-house adult social care services play a vital role in supporting people across West Northamptonshire, and we want to make sure they continue to meet people’s needs now and in the future.
“This consultation is an important opportunity for us to listen to those who use our services, their families and carers, our staff and the wider community. We want to understand what works well, what matters most and where we can improve.
“I want to be clear that no decisions have been made at this stage, and we must make sure our services are sustainable and able to respond to the changing and often more complex needs of our residents. This may involve some difficult decisions, which is why it’s so important that people share their views and help shape what happens next.”
