About the Centre and the Everdon Team

About the Centre

We are located in a superb rural setting in the attractive village of Everdon, near Daventry. The surrounding countryside provides a wide variety of contrasting landscapes and habitats which make the area ideal for the study of Geography, Science and Environmental Studies.

We have access to woodlands, ponds, rivers and meadows providing the opportunity for the study of ecosystems of varying complexity. We can provide schools and groups with the opportunity to sample outdoor activities such as orienteering, cross country navigation and team building games.

We welcome groups from schools, nurseries and playgroups, clubs such as Scouts, Cubs, Guides, Rainbows or Brownies or even a group of families or individuals.

Learning Outside the Council (LOtC) Quality Badge

The Quality Badge awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom. A purple "Q" surrounded by a green wreath and a number of outdoor activities

We have been awarded the LOtC Quality Badge! The LOtC Quality Badge is the only national Quality Assurance Scheme that recognises both learning and safety for all types of learning outside the classroom providers.

Our LOtC Quality Badge status provides a number of assurances for teachers organising educational visits, including:

  • The LOtC Quality Badge is a national benchmark that recognises good quality educational experiences and
    effective risk management
  • The LOtC Quality Badge awards providers across all sectors offering LOtC experiences, including heritage,
arts and culture, farming and countryside, adventurous activities and overseas expeditions and study tours,
so teachers only need to look for one badge when taking students out and about
  • The Department for Education’s guidance on Health & Safety on Educational Visits recommends that
schools look for the LOtC Quality Badge when choosing external providers of educational visits
  • The Outdoor Education Advisers’ Panel endorse the LOtC Quality Badge, and most Local Authority Outdoor
Education Advisers and Educational Visits Advisers and Academy Trusts accept it in place of some or all of their
checks, so reduces schools’ and your own paperwork
