Health and Safety at Everdon

Safeguarding  

Safeguarding is our primary aim. Please remember you are responsible for the children in your care.  

Please ensure they are supervised at all times including break times. We ask that adults are identifiable to their specific group. If any additional adults join your group, they need to be met at the entrance by the group leader.  

Our team of qualified and experienced Rangers work with the children throughout the day and each Ranger is DBS cleared.  

First aid

First aid is the responsibility of the group leader. You will need to ensure that you bring a first aid kit with you and arrange for a qualified first aider during your visit.

Our rangers are first aid trained and carry first aid kits with them. A first aid and burns kit are available at the centre.

The nearest Accident and Emergency Unit to us is at Northampton General Hospital.

Call 111 in the case of non-life threatening emergencies for advice.

Medicines

The group leader has the responsibility for the visitors in their care. Our staff will not assist with the administering of any medication.  

Risk assessments

All risk assessments for the site and activities we lead are risk assessed and are reviewed annually.  

Individual learner risk assessments are the responsibility of the group leader.

Security

Our garden is secured by fencing and a locked gate. The front gate can be closed when the group is on site, and is locked when the Centre is empty.

Mobile phone reception and Wi-Fi

Phone reception can be poor on some networks here at Everdon. Our Wi-Fi is available – WNC public – and is an unsecured network with no password. You will need an email address to log in. 

Your data is not stored by us, but kept to keep you logged in when you enter and exit the building.

Smoking and vaping

We have a strict no smoking policy in or around our sites. Please leave the area if you intend to smoke or vape.

Waste and recycling

Please ensure that you use the waste and recycling bins provided. Food is not to be consumed in the bedrooms.
