Education - Local Offer

Entitlement to education

All children are entitled to an education under the Children and Families Act 2014. The education must enable them to achieve their best outcomes, become confident individuals, live fulfilling lives, and successfully transition into adulthood.

Schools must ensure children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) get the support they need, and can engage in school activities alongside other pupils.

A child or young person has a special educational need if they have a learning difficulty that means they need special education and health support. Many children and young people who have an SEN may also have a disability.
