What being a Shared Lives carer means
By being a Shared Lives carer you'll be paid for caring for a person in need in your own home. This can be on a long-term, short-term or respite (short-term relief for a primary carer) basis. This is a rewarding and flexible role which allows you to support and share your daily life with someone who will benefit from a caring household.
Shared Lives carers can be anyone over the age of 18. Individuals, couples, or families with a spare bedroom can welcome an adult or younger person who requires support into their home and community. This helps them build independence and confidence through compassionate care.
To find out more about the rewards of being a Shared Lives carer you can read through testimonials from our carers.
