Early Years Provider Support

Evidence based intervention

The Department for Education (DfE) are investing funding for Early Years Providers to access support to raise current 3-4 year old children’s good level of development.

Within West Northamptonshire we are rolling out a range of carefully selected Evidence Based Interventions to support children to become school ready in their literacy development as well as their speech & language.

We have three completely free of charge training opportunities available to you as an Early Years Provider to book onto:

A quick and effective speech and language screening tool to support the early identification of need.
You will follow a sequence of activities with your identified children to enable you to screen your children until they screen green.

This will then highlight the level of their development where you will be guided to the right area within the ‘Big Book of Ideas’ to further support your children in their communication & understanding, raising their good level of development in an easy to record manner.

A targeted programme strengthening early literacy through play and working with families to enhance their home learning environments.

This is a low cost no cost support for children & their parents which explores print in the environment, looking at picture & word books, whilst promoting oral language.

We explore the continuation from the provision into the home environment to support families to build their confidence in developing children’s literacy skills, as well as creating literacy events to support families understanding around the importance of early mark making & how this develops into a school readiness skill.
