Climbing the Rainbow is a blog which supports people parenting autistic children. It has a printable set of cards to help children talk about their feelings about the news of war.
National Literacy Trust
The National Literacy Trust has created 'Welcome Reading Packs' for Ukrainian families and their hosts.
Each pack contains a tote-bag with:
- age-appropriate books in English
- a ruler
- a pencil
- a pack of markers
- stickers
- a pencil case
- a hardback notebook
The pack also includes:
- printed resources
- information about local literacy activities
- a QR code to access digital activities

Sunflower TV
Sunflower TV is a dedicated ad-free YouTube channel showing hit British children’s programmes dubbed into Ukrainian. There is up to 200 hours of Ukrainian and British content. Sunflower TV offers entertainment and respite for the children of Ukrainian refugees.
Currently featuring about 50 episodes, Sunflower TV includes a range of dubbed British children’s programmes such as:
- Peppa Pig
- Go Jetters
- Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom
- Thomas & Friends
- Mr Bean: The Animated Series
- JoJo and Gran Gran
- Kit and Pup
Sunflower TV also features shows produced by Ukrainian producers, such as Brave Bunnies and Eskimo Girl.
ESOL for children
LearnEnglish Kids is run by the British Council. They have lots of free online games, songs, stories and activities for children.
For parents, they have articles on supporting children in learning English, videos on using English at home and information about English courses for your child.
