Debt, budgeting and repayment advice
West Northamptonshire Council offers a free, confidential Debt and Money Advice Service for residents.
We can help you with:
- understanding your debt options and setting up payment plans
- managing your money and budgeting
- checking you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to
- filling in benefit claim forms and supporting you with appeals
- referring you to other organisations for wider support
- building your confidence to manage your finances using self-help tools
We work with specialist partners.
These include:

- Citizens Advice West Northamptonshire and Cherwell - free, confidential and impartial advice on financial, legal and social issues
Affordable saving and borrowing
Commsave Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union. For over 30 years, it has helped people save regularly and borrow at affordable rates.
It offers savings accounts and loans. You can choose to save directly from your salary, any profits are paid back to members as dividends or invested in local community services.
