New, replacement or additional bins

If you are on a wheeled bin collection, you should have the following wheeled bins:

  • recycling - black with a blue lid or blue bin
  • general rubbish - black bin
  • food waste bins - small indoor caddy and large outdoor bin (brown or silver)
  • garden waste - black or green bin with a brown lid, or brown bin: a yearly opt-in chargeable subscription. There is also a bag service available

If you are on a sack collection, you should have the following:

  • clear sacks for recycling
  • black sacks for general waste
  • a small indoor caddy and a large outdoor bin for food waste

For either wheeled bin or sack collections, you may also subscribe to receive a garden waste collection service.

New properties receive a new full set of containers upon occupation. Residents who live in flats will have alternative arrangements depending on their property.

Before you order

You cannot order more general waste sacks. A set number are provided each year that allows for 2 bags each week.

Each household only receives one general waste black bin. You can request replacements for damaged or missing bins using this service.

If you have already ordered a new or replacement bin, please do not order again. Please contact us to confirm the status of the order.

If it is a replacement bin, the damaged bin must be left out for collection. A new bin will not be supplied if the damaged one is not left in the normal collection spot.

Please make sure your damaged bin is at the kerbside of the property by 6:30am on the arranged day. If we are unable to repair it, we will replace your bin free of charge.

Ordering new or replacement bins

Please note that bins may take up to 4 weeks to be delivered.

Garden waste

Once you have subscribed to our garden waste service, you can order a replacement or additional garden waste bin in:

Additional bins and capacity

You may be eligible for extra capacity if you are struggling to cope with the size of your general waste bin, for reasons such as:

  • there are 6 or more residents living at the property
  • you have 2 or more children in full time nappies
  • someone has a medical condition that produces a lot of non-recyclable waste

If this situation applies to your household, please contact us. We may have to visit you to see if you qualify.

If you qualify for a large bin, we may take your smaller bin away when we deliver the large one. If your smaller bin is not available to exchange, we will not leave a larger bin.

Additional bins that are not provided or approved by us will not be collected and may be removed.
