The Northampton Town Centre Task Group is a team of different organisations working together. We aim to solve problems and take actions to make Northampton town centre safer and better for everyone.
Plans are followed from the West Northants Community Safety Partnership, NTE solutions, and the Northampton Town Centre Masterplan.
Plan for 2026
Improve the Overall Appearance of the Town Centre
- Delivery of graffiti removal and prevention projects
- Support the delivery of Wall Games 2026 to bring vibrant Street art to the town centre
Safety and Welfare (Particularly in the evening/night time)
- Develop materials in relation to delivery riders etiquette and responsibility
- Ongoing expansion of the Ask for Angela scheme
- Francis Jetty PSPO renewal
Safer Transport in the evening and night time economy
- Bridge Street traffic improvements
- Ongoing delivery of Taxi Marshal scheme
Engagement and promoting the offer
- Improve Help Point signage
- Promote the Student Route and safety schemes to University students
- Develop and deliver the Purple Flag Comms strategy
