Anxiety UK Helpline/Text Service

A helpline that provides friendly support and guidance on how to deal with anxiety and can discuss techniques for immediate short-term relief of anxiety symptoms through to helping you find the right path of action for more long-term support.

ARMS Service

A service that works with young people and adults aged between 14 and 35 years for up to one year. The aim is to help prevent or delay the development of a first episode of psychosis, and support people with all aspects of their lives including mental wellbeing, social functioning, employment and general quality of life.

Calm

A service for males in the UK who need to talk or find support.

Call 0800 585858 between 5pm and midnight every day of the year. Other options include web chat and WhatsApp.

Community Mental Health Adult - Early Intervention N'Step

An early intervention service that delivers low dose anti-psychotic medication, psycho-education, medication management, CBT, family intervention and relapse prevention. This service is for people aged 14 to 65 years who are having their first episode of psychosis.

IAPT Talking Therapies

This service is for people aged 17 and a half years and over across Northamptonshire, who are trying to get back on track, although they may feel stressed, anxious or low.

Call 0300 999 1616 from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, or fill in an online form.

MIND

Mind has:

  • a Support Line open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, except bank holidays (0300 102 1234)
  • an Infoline open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, except bank holidays (0300 123 3393).

One Call Away

A helpline for the gypsy/traveller community, offering confidential support for those depressed or suicidal. The service is here to listen, support and talk with you about depression, suicidal thoughts, self harm and anxiety.

Provides a talk/type relay service for anyone who has difficulty hearing or being understood when speaking over the phone. The cost of making phone calls through this service depends on your telephone service provider.

Offers emotional support and information for anyone affected by mental health problems, including a helpline.

A safe, online community where people support each other anonymously to improve mental health and wellbeing. The online service is available 24/7.

University of Northampton Counselling and Mental Health Team

A team that provide free, confidential support to students in a safe place, who need help in managing their emotional and mental wellbeing. The services available include: counselling, mental health advice and drop in support during term-time.

HOPELINE247

If you are having thoughts of suicide or are concerned for a young person you can contact HOPELINE247, for confidential support and practical advice. 

You can call 0800 068 4141, text 88247 or email [email protected]. Lines are open 24 hours every day. 

Perinatal Mental Health

A service that provides assessment and treatment for women who are experiencing or are at an increased risk of experiencing a severe mental health condition, during pregnancy and up to one year after birth. Pre-conception counselling is also available for women who have previously experienced severe mental illness and would like to plan a pregnancy.

Call 0300 027 0480 from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm for advice.

Student Minds

A UK student mental health charity, empowering students and members of the university community to look after their own mental health, support others and create change.

Family Lives Helpline

A free and confidential helpline service for families in England and Wales previously known as Parentline. The service offers emotional support, information, advice and guidance on any aspect of parenting and family life.

Call 0808 800 2222 on weekdays between 9am and 9pm and weekends between 10am and 3pm.

Farming Community Network

A voluntary organisation and charity that supports farmers and families within the farming community through difficult time, such as business, health, family and farm issues.

Call 03000 111 999, open every day of the year between 7am and 11pm, to talk to a sympathetic person who understands farmers and rural life.

Spiritual Wellbeing - The Chaplaincy Service

A service with extensive training in spirituality, religion, mental health and counselling. The service is here for anyone who has a spiritual need, whether or not they belong to a faith group. It provides support in hospitals, care centres and in the community, for you, your carers and family.

Frank Bruno Foundation

A service that provides a safe environment, with the aim to improve mental wellbeing of participants facing or recovering from mental ill health. This programme has been developed for anyone over the age of 13 with a considered early assessment-led intervention from 10 years old.

Recovery College

A service offering a range of educational courses and one-off workshops, which are designed to improve health by increasing knowledge and skills and promoting self-management. 

Courses are related to mental health, neurodevelopmental conditions and physical health. 

These courses are available to:

  • individuals over 18 years old who are current or previous NHFT service users
  • carers, family, and friends of NHFT service users
  • NHFT staff members
  • members of our partner organisations

A service for service users, where standard forms of treatment for mental health problems have failed. A range of treatments are offered to adults aged 18 years and over.

Mates In Mind

A UK charity raising awareness, improving understanding, implementing effective interventions and addressing the stigma of mental ill-health. Mates in Mind promote and lead on the development of positive mental health in and through work, working across industries such as construction, transport, logistics and others.
